Do you think consumers should avoid over packaged products or is it the responsibility of producers?

Who should own the responsibility to discourage over packaged products? This topic generates lots of discussions. I strongly believe that the consumers should discourage buying these products. The below-mentioned points will elucidate my opinion.

Firstly, over packaging is a tacit strategy used by manufacturers to attract customers, which help to increase their product’s sale. Sometimes, the packaging is so attractive that people tend to purchase items without the genuine requirement. It is scientifically proved that an attractive packaging can influence customers’ purchasing behavior as it influences their mind’s decision-making mechanism.

Secondly, over packaging does not come free of cost. Indeed, it’s cost is passed to the customers. Therefore, the customer ends up paying more than what they should actually pay. Consequently, It increases their monthly bills. Indeed, the customer can make the smart choice by purchasing less packaged products as it will cost them lesser.

Thirdly, generally, packaging covers are made of non-biodegradable materials, which have a negative impact on our environment. Furthermore, the customers can contribute to maintaining a healthy environment by avoiding over packaged products.

In conclusion, the above-mentioned points fortify my opinion that the customers should act smartly and should not purchase over-packaged items. It will force the producers to change their products accordingly and they will stop using over packaging.
